Dr. Cole Herzik

I built M.E.N.T.O.R because I know the potential of associate doctors that are truly ā€˜M.E.N.T.O.R’ed.

Motivate, Empower, Nurture, Teach, and Observe Your associate dentists to increase their profitability, to reclaim your free time, and to ensure everyone in the partnership takes their game to the next level.
After leaving yet again another associate job because my potential was not being seen or appreciated, I made it my mission to change the industry of dentistry for the better.

The Moment Everything Broke

The problem I solve in Dentistry is keeping alive the relationship between the mentor and mentee… ensuring the owner doctor can keep his/her associate happy, productive, poised, and elevated.

My raw truth is that I have been at the receiving end of a failed relationship… and I have suffered (and watched the fallout) that ensues when the associate of the practice leaves to a place where he or she feels more ā€œat homeā€. At the same time, I know the struggle the owner doctor now finds their practice in – where do we go from here to find that next ā€œsuperstarā€?

I was tired of watching relationship after relationship fail with both the owner doctor and associate doctor feeling like they had lost something and had to rebuild once again.

The ā€œEnough Is Enoughā€ Moment

I can remember the moment everything changed for me quite well: I am sitting in the audience at the DYKEMA conference in Colorado… putting the finishing touches to my letter of resignation for my current associate position to turn in Monday Morning… when I suddenly hear the presenter on stage state ā€˜Everything has been going great… but we cannot seem to keep our doctors. Turnover has been higher this year compared to the year previous’. I realized it was not my experience alone feeling like I was not motivated, empowered, nurtured, taught, observed, or received by my employer/mentor/boss. I knew then in that moment that the industry of dentistry needed my help to be the liaison of reconciling these relationships for the better. No one, not the owner nor the associate, was going to feel unheard, unseen, or unappreciated again.

Building the Fix

I heard the stories… posted anonymously on Dental Nachos and similar Facebook group… I saw the listed jobs for yet again another owner doctor looking to maintain office productivity… and I felt the pain and the frustration of both sides one last time before doing something about. Thus, M.E.N.T.O.R was created to serve both the owner doctors and the associate dentists they employ. With this service, the owner doctors and groups can focus on the big picture, reclaim their time back, and maintain their associate doctors to grow their businesses. In addition, the associate doctors that they employ can continue to grow their confidence and skills, to feel seen/heard on a daily basis, and to be mentored in all of the aspects of dentistry that will help to spread their wings farther and faster in a setting that is comfortable. M.E.N.T.O.R is helping the groups of dentistry maintain their valuable associate doctors by keeping them more productive, happier, and educated while ensuring that extra time, resources, and money does not have to be wasted. Let Dr. Cole Herzik and the M.E.N.T.O.R’s be the chief motivational officers that the associate doctors you employ need.

Where M.E.N.T.O.R Is Headed

The vision and future of M.E.N.T.O.R are quite simple – creating a network of M.E.N.T.O.R’s in the dental industry to ensure that the groups of dentistry can keep their associates for long-term relationships that are beneficial for all and lead all parties to ultimate fulfillment. No longer will the leaders of the big groups of dentistry going to be faced with a ā€œemployee turnoverā€ issue. M.E.N.T.O.R will be THE key player in ensuring that the field of dentistry has some of the happiest and educated providers leading to the best practice of dentistry for all that are served.
